So, How Was This Year?

Procrastination Galore

Also the only thing worth mentioning this year is the new art for Delicatessen and for a still confidential project.

And more figures. Go figure where the art budget went.

Also a new rig instead of 60 USD sprites x 6. Now I can render all I want (well maybe, the card is entry level after all)

Look at that chum lol.

Not the LED ring Wraith Spire ;_;

RGB on RAM actually looks good.

Now all that's left is another 16 DIMMs of RAM and a better video card for rendering things.

AND I STILL HAVEN'T MADE THE CHARACTER BLURBS FOR DELICATESSEN HAHAHAHA.

AND OH, I ACTUALLY QUIT KANCOLLE. I SOLD MY LVL 106 ACCOUNT FOR 20 USD. ;_; I feel bad. I originally intended this blog to include my KanColle shenanigans. ;_;

Meanwhile, at KanColle

I'd probably choose Yamashiro this time. Oh wait, it's always been Yamashiro lol.

I'd buy one.

Shiratsuyu's back with her summer outfit.

What the fuck am I doing with my spare time?

Hey, It's a KanColle Post!

KanColle's most dignified, studious, diligent honor student destroyer finally gets her own kai ni, Asashio. Asashio is the third ship in her class to receive a second upgrade. Like Ooshio and Kasumi before her, she gets two versions, the first version which is the one shown, is centered on firepower, while the other upgrade is more on anti-aircraft.

She actually doesn't come with any equipment. 10cm HAs and Type-13 Kai are from stocks.

It was a good day to keep this class of destroyers. It's a year and a month since I started playing KanColle. Asashio is the 61st ship I padlocked, and I never expected any of her class to have second upgrades before they're relatively newer ships compared to the Mutsuki and Fubuki classes.

Fucking Done

Die motherfucker.

Got my drunken Italian CA now. I need not do anything
except farming for Akizuki.

Who cares about Iowa. Should I? E-6 is fucking complex but is rather
easy with land-based aerial support available... but fuck it. That comes after I get
Akizuki.

Some people became salty enough to the point that they can preserve themselves. This might be my last KanColle Event, then hopefully I can focus on my game projects.

Rekt

Exorcising demons have never been this fun, especially at night.

This was probably the easiest medium run ever in my admiralty career.  Gonna start hitting deep operations tomorrow. *Sigh*

WHERE THE FLYING FUCK IS THE F R E E D O M?

This is a KanColle Winter 2016 event report.  This is probably the easiest event on easy difficulty.

Three stages, almost one week, and no dent to my fleet's resources whatsoever.  NO FREEDOM SHIP THOUGH.  F R E E D O M IS ABSENT.

Got a lot of new kids daughters too.  Welp.

I'm really disappointing USN ships didn't appear this time.  Rumor has it the PSVita version is going to have it first.  Also upcoming is the android version (that's supposedly going to be linked with your online account).

Fleet Rearmament and Modernization Report: Murakumo Kai 2, Ushio Kai 2

Howdy.  Almost an event late, here's Murakumo and Ushio.  They're both special-type destroyers.  Ushio bears the distinction of participating in Pearl Harbor, and out of all the ships that participated in that operation, the only one that survived the war.

I don't know much about Murakumo.

There's speculation that this year's first event (Operation Rei-Go) might have KanColle see it's first ever F R E E D O M ships, as already hinted by that 16-inch Mk.7 Main Gun ranking prize distributed last update.

Also, F R E E D O M fairy is here.  I'm so excited for D E M O C R A C Y to come to this Imperialist, revisionist, all the damn -cist game that is Kantai Collection.

Democracy motherf****ers, do you know it?

Happy Holidays 2015 Edition

Yes.  Happy holidays, or season's greetings.  It's the thought that counts after all.

Man the Harpoons

Because we have a whale to catch. More like we just harpooned a whale.  I finally have Taigei in my fleet.  Taigei is a submarine tender, she's probably the sole ship of her class.  Her artists is the same as most of the Shitatsuyu Class. Taigei can be remodeled at least 3(?) times.  I need to check the wiki for that.  Anyway, once I get one more sub, I can do that German quest to get Z1, and finally Bismark.

KanColle Fall 2015 E-2 and E-3 Debriefing

The past three weeks have been hectic.  My laptop has broken down after all these years.  I had to log-in in a number of laptops before I could find a new home (incoming blog post for that).

E-2 last dance with Agano as drop.

E-3 last dance with Kashima as a drop.  Kashima's the only event ship I had.

*Sighs* I was prepared for a large-scale operation, not medium-scale events.  I got bored right away.

KanColle Fall 2015 E-1 Debriefing

Done with "Transport operation! Sweep up the front" a.k.a the first event map for this Fall's event.  I did this map in normal difficulty.  As you can see, this map requires a combine fleet, depending on the type of fleet (surface or aircraft) you might get directed to an undesirable route.  I went for a surface task force with 1 CV, 1 BB, 4 CA as the main fleet and 1 CA, 1 CL and 4 DD as escorts.   My fleet composition and expenses are shown below.

No event drop for this map.  I did get Uzuki which is in the high-tier of rare destroyers.  Uzuki  is a Mutsuki-Class destroyer.  Screenshot taken immediately after event to take note of the resource level after E-1.

I'm hitting E-2 while I'm writing this. Geez.  One more thing that happened in between is the remodeling of Souryuu to Kai 2.

Like Hiryuu, most of Souryuu's Kai 2 planes are elite versions of earlier IJN aircraft, in contrast to Katsuragi's Type 52Cs, Souryuu gets Type 21s.   At least I get to relegate one more Reppu to the CVLs.

Over and out.

KanColle Fall 2015: A Medium Scale Operation

And here I am thinking it's gonna be grand with 18-24 ships deploying during harder nodes.  So, just a quick update on how things are going right now in the fleet.  A separate E-1 Summary will be posted once I'm done with it.

The usual ship locking is present once again.  Though ship locking is irrelevant when you're doing easy but then I wanted to try harder this season so I went for medium/normal difficulty on E-1.  Anyway, since I didn't want to commit my higher level ships, I decided to remodel somebody who has been largely forgotten since last summer, the reason being she needs blueprints to upgrade.  Enter Katsuragi.   Her remodel comes with elite planes, allowing me to relieve some Reppu and Suisei off for the CVLs.

E-1, E-2, E-3 are green tag maps.  Meaning any ship used here will not be usable on E-4.  E-4 being the last map in the operation.  I relegated most of my "no-kai2" destroyers and CAs to the task.  I might also rush to upgrade Unryuu (Katsuragi's sister ship) to allow me to dedicate the 1st and 2nd Carrier Divisions to E-4.  As of this moment, I have 5 deployable  CVs.

I have read reports/articles about E-4 having a submarine boss.  And I know full well I only have 3 Type 3 projectors/depth charges.  I should procure more Type 3s.

Stay tuned for the next update.

Fleet Rearmament and Modernization Report: Mutsuki Kai 2, Kisaragi Kai 2, Hiryuu Kai 2

Fall 2015 will commence after November 18 maintenance.  I managed to remodel two more DDs and one CV.

Mutsuki and Kisaragi are the first two of Mutsuki Class.  They originally didn't have names assigned to them but thanks to a miracle of bureaucracy, they were given names.  While Mutsuki is the name ship of the class, Kisaragi was actually commissioned first.  Kisaragi was also lost early in the war during the Battle of Wake Island.

Probably the last to be remodeled prior to the event is Hiryuu.  Hiryuu is the last carrier to be sunk during Midway. She probably has the highest luck among the carriers in the 1st and 2nd Carrier Div.  Her second remodel offers elite aircraft that comes at rank II. I might use them to clear event maps that don't have batshit AAA on them.

As announced, Part 2 of "The Economics of Large-Scale Fleet Operations" will be posted as soon as the aforementioned maintenance is done.  Sally ho, comrades.

The Economics of Large-Scale Fleet Operations Part 1: A Summer 2015 Postmortem

Note:  I assigned a unit of tonnes.  The reason being is KanColle doesn't have units in-game.

Before the start of the event, August 10, I had:
855 buckets
114,514 tonnes of fuel
135,305 tonnes of ammunition
90,099 beams of steel
68,762 tonnes of bauxite

The the end of the event, September 6, I had:
267 buckets
30,209 tonnes of fuel
117,272 tonnes of ammunition
20,970 tonnes to steel
43,533 tonnes of bauxite

The Operation lasted for 27 days. Consumption as follows:
588 buckets
84,305 tonnes of fuel
18,033 tonnes of ammunition
69,129 tonnes of steel
25,229 tonnes of bauxite

Average consumption per day:
resource / event_duration
rounded off
588 / 27 = 22 buckets
84,305 / 27 = 3,122 tonnes of fuel
18,033 / 27 = 667 tonnes of ammunition
69,129 / 27 = 2560 tonnes of steel
25,229 / 27 = 934 tonnes of bauxite

Graphs below.

Today is 11/16.  Autumn 2015 Event incoming.  Part 2 will be all about recovering resources from September 6th to whatever date Part 2 will be posted.

Fleet Rearmament and Modernization Report: Ayanami Kai 2

My fleet has been joined by another Kai 2 Special Class Destroyer, Ayanami.  With her high luck and firepower, she's bound to make event sorties easier, and putting less strain on my other high-level DDs.

A little bit of history from wikipedia:

Ayanami's final mission, on November 14–15, 1942, was that of the Second Naval Battle of Guadalcanal. There, she was attached to a scouting force under the command of Rear Admiral Shintarō Hashimoto in the light cruiser Sendai. When American Admiral Willis A. Lee's Task Force 64 was spotted near Savo Island, Hashimoto took his ships clockwise around the island, but sent Ayanami alone in the opposite direction sweeping for enemy vessels. When Lee's ships were located, the order to attack was given, and as such, Ayanami became one of three prongs in the initial attack (Along with Hashimoto's group, and another group led by Rear Admiral Susumu Kimura in the light cruiser Nagara).
Ayanami was first sighted by the American destroyer USS Walke, but the light cruiser Nagara was located soon after and the four destroyers' attentions shifted to it. Torpedo and shellfire from AyanamiNagara, and Uranami sank two of the four destroyers (USS Preston and USS Walke), mortally wounded USS Benham (which was scuttled after the battle), and severely damaged USS Gwin, causing heavy American losses in the first phase of the battle.

Night fighting equipment.  Lots of them.

Ayanami's seifuku in contrast to Fubuki.  They probably wear the same seifuku but they have different ribbons (laces?)

WTF? KanColle's 10.09.2015 Update

Murasame's a fishing ship now.

Everything was okay until everyone realized that API links don't work anymore.  Yes.  API links won't work on viewers unless you rabidly refresh it every 30(?) minutes or so.   If you're using KC3, just enable force cookie hack and you'll be saved from the catbombs.

And there's a special event going on where you fish for mackerel.  I don't exactly know what it does but it seems it's supposed to be similar to that mochi event of last week.  Also, seasonal CGs for Akebono, Ushio, Murasame, and limited-time drop for Isokaze (with her own CG as well)

Sally ho, admirals.  Fall 2015 is in 3 weeks.  Stack resources and train your daughters.

I swear to God that new stained glass furniture makes me want to DEUS VULT

Yes.  There's also new furniture.  I think two bars, a window, and that DEUS VULT piece of stained glass.

Hatsuyuki Wants to Go Home

Meet Fubuki Class DD Hatsuyuki, DesDiv 11.   A rather peculiar ship daughter partly because of her depiction as a NEET or Hikkomori.  During sorties, you can't help if she purposely gets hit (in programming sense, the system is actually acting to have her get hit) so she can go home.  If you look at her lines, you can tell that her character procrastinates A LOT.  There's also a lot of ellipses involved to the point it's almost criminal.  It's interesting to note that she looks and acts similar to Touhou's Kaguya... and probably to a lesser extent, Index's Himegami Aisa.

Whatever the case, I'm not bringing her to event maps.  I have enough reason to believe that she's rigged to go home.
